Although you may be busy planning out your April Fools' Day pranks, you should also devote some attention to your home today. Now is a great time to finish your spring cleaning and get your house in tip-top shape for the upcoming months. If you don't know where to start, check out our helpful checklist:
- Clean windows: "Boost natural light throughout your home by cleaning the windows, inside and out," suggest Houzz.com contributor Laura Gaskill. "If you have second-story windows, either hire a service to clean the outside or use a hose attachment to clean them yourself (while standing safely on the ground.)" Once your windows are clear and spotless, then embellish them with new curtains and drapes! Look for stylish pastel drapes to stay on trend this spring.
- Organize closet: The warm weather is on the horizon, which means it's time to say goodbye to your heavy winter coats, boots and wool sweaters. While you're organizing your closet look for items that no longer fit you and donate them to your local charity. After all, one person's trash is another's treasure!
- Wipe down outdoor furniture: Now that the temperature is warming up it's a great time to give your patio furniture a good scrub-down. Chances are these items have been collecting dust and dirt in your basement or garage for months. Get ahead on this project now so that you enjoy your deck during relaxing spring weekends.
