ACM Awards fashion trends applied to the home

Neutral curtains can make a statement.

Neutral curtains can make a statement.

As you know, home design trends often take inspiration from the red carpet. Just because the Oscars are over, that doesn't mean we can't ogle at the stars. On Sunday night, country superstars stepped out in their best attire for the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards. Take a look at some of the trends we love and learn how to apply them to your home!

  • Black and white: Country cutie Taylor Swift, who usually favors sparkly dresses, stepped out of her comfort zone by rocking an edgy white crop top paired with a slitted black skirt. The star ended up on numerous best-dressed lists for her bold new look. Black and white never goes out of style, both on the runway and in the home.
  • Lavender: By now you know that purple is the "it" color of the year. Kellie Pickler proved how gorgeous pale purple can be by wearing a stunning lavender Romona Keveza gown accentuated by a sparkling silver belt. This trendy shade can certainly be applied to your curtains and drapes. Take a cue from Pickler and embellish your light purple window fashions with a chic silver tie-back.
  • Shimmering neutrals: "Miranda Lambert was our hands-down favorite of the night," writes Cinya Burton for E! News. "The singer looked like a golden goddess in a plunging, crystal-adorned gown by Randi Rahm." Although neutrals are common background colors, these shades can steal the show if they shimmer and sparkle like Lambert's dress. We love the idea of gold curtains and drapes in the dining room, which will exude a sophisticated look.
