Many people put home improvement projects off because they can be overwhelming and require a substantial financial commitment. While this is certainly true for any major renovations – such as a new kitchen or remodeled basement – there are a lot of ways that a house can be upgraded in smaller ways. Some jobs do not need to be as time consuming to make a difference, as a small project can still have a large impact on the look or feel of your home. In a lot of cases, you do not have to break the bank to update your space.
Here are a few ways you can upgrade your home over a single weekend:
- Cleaned out closets: If you want to improve your home, you should start by using space in smarter ways. Your closets likely have years of junk and useless items piled up – things that you can absolutely part with. Take some time this weekend to empty out your closets and throw away anything that you no longer need.
- Fresh coat of paint: One of the best – and easiest – ways you can freshen the look of any room is by applying a new coat of paint to the walls. Depending on the size of the room, this project should not take more than a day or two, as you will only have to protect any furniture from the paint and give enough time for the walls to dry.
- Smaller fixtures: You do not need to take on an entire renovation project to make a room look new again. Instead, if is often better to focus on the details – new handles for your cabinets or new doorknobs for each door. Look around for the smaller items you can change!
