Now that the weather is warming up, you'll probably be hosting a lot of events in your home. From graduation parties to Memorial Day barbecues, the spring is a great time to get together with family and friends.
Former MTV star turned fashion designer Lauren Conrad recently shared some hosting tips with Us Weekly. Take a look at her suggestions to make your shindigs go off without a hitch this season:
- Never go to a party empty-handed: Even if you're not the one hosting a party, you should still be hospitable. "I am all about presentation. I really enjoy baking, and if I go somewhere and bring a dessert, I always bake a pie," Conrad tells the source. If you're not a cook, opt to bring a bottle of wine or fresh fruit with dip.
- Sit back and relax: It's important to enjoy the company of good friends and to not be consumed with being a perfect host. Although you may be tempted to rush to the kitchen after dinner and wash all of your dishes, spend time eating dessert with your friends and family instead. You'll be able to wash the dishes and clean up after your guests leave.
- Show off a stylish home: When it comes to hosting a party, presentation is everything. Before your guests arrive, tidy up your space and make sure that your house's interior and exterior look great. Also, arrange plenty of seating so that all of your guests have a place to sit down and eat.
