Today is the first day of spring! It's time to say goodbye to slushy streets, heavy winter jackets and shoveling in favor of flowers, sunny days and frozen yogurt. Most of the United States suffered through a harsh winter so in honor of getting through the many snow storms, let's take a look at some stylish, spring-inspired home design tips:
- Flower display: If your outdoor greenery isn't quite in bloom just yet, create a quaint indoor display. Use out-of-the-box vases, like mason jars or watering cans to hold the bright flowers. Place these objects near the window sill to enhance your curtains and drapes.
- Organized home: Now that it's officially spring, it's time to start cleaning! Begin by organizing your coat closet, and placing warm jackets in storage or in the attic. If you're looking for new ways to stay organized, why don't you invest in some colorful bins? These items will look great in shelves or on their own.
- Welcoming entryway: To make you entryway more inviting, opt for colorful coat hooks. "[The entryway] is the first thing you see as you walk through the door, so why not make it more cheerful? Fun hooks are an easy way to make this area of the home stand out while adding much-needed storage," writes Houzz.com contributor Laura Gaskill. "Try classic multicolored hooks, whimsical animal-shaped hooks or repurposed vintage glass knobs."
